BLACK FRIDAY eBay Sale!

I know I've been slacking on the toy review front...I'll blame it on being busy with work and home life. However, I have been slowly adding new toys and other items to my eBay store over the last few weeks. Starting around 4 PM EST on Thanksgiving, my Black Friday sale begins. Select items in my store will be 25% off...including a complete Transformers Car Robots Brave Maximus!

I still have more items to list and if time allows, I'll add those to the store over the Thanksgiving weekend. I'll be adding new items all throughout December so if you need to get a gift for that geek on your Christmas list, I ask that you give my store a look to see if there is anything that fits the bill.

I promise I am working on a new Transformers toy review and hope to get that posted before the new work week begins on Monday the 27th.

eBay Store stocked w/ vintage GI Joe vehicle parts

It's been awhile since I've done much with my eBay store outside of adding a few figures here and there. The time it takes to properly take pictures, edit the pictures and research the items to come up with a fair price can really be taxing. Every evening I ask myself what am I going to do with my free time? Coming from someone with more hobbies than free time, it's a hard question to answer!

When I finally sit down to list items though it's hard to stop. Over the weekend I finally listed all of these old A Real American Hero GI Joe vehicle parts. I don't know how long I've been sitting on these. There were in a huge collection of toys I purchased years ago, but strangely enough there weren't any vehicles...just the remnants. I knew it would take me a good bit of time to identify the parts so I just kept dragging my feet. However it wasn't as bad as I thought and I knocked them out over the course of the weekend.

I used a few websites, some friends and Mark Bellemo's first Joe book to identify the parts. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little tempted to revisit my childhood Joe memories again...but I'm going to resist. As cool as many of the Joe and Cobra vehicles were, I just don't have the room anymore.

I was surprised to find parts for Tiger Force vehicles (several sold immediately upon listing them) and even several guns for the Joe toy holy grail, the Defiant Space Shuttle Complex. The kid who originally owned these toys obviously had the Defiant and he had a G1 Transformers Fortress Maximus too. Now that was a lucky kid to have owned both of those giant toys back in the day.

There are vehicle parts, accessories, missiles, etc. in the store now. I also listed a few higher end video games I wanted to move as well. If you have any interest what so ever, go and check them out and let me know if you have any questions. I am offering a flat $3 shipping on all action figure parts now...GI Joe, TMNT, Transformers and more.

Shameless Plug

As I've been tearing apart my toy room / office at home I've found that I just simply don't have space to display everything that I own. I'm not one for packing things away as I'd rather be able to see and enjoy what I own. That said it figured it was just time to let some things go. Time that with the holidays coming up it was the right time to load up my eBay store.

So far I've put some new Transformers, GI Joe and Marvel related items in the store. You'll also find some retro video games, baseball cards and other toys such as Visionaries. I'm not done adding items either, it's just late and I'm feeling a little under the weather at the moment.

Once I'm able to clear some of this clutter I've made for myself, I hope to get back to posting some reviews. I guess the good thing here is I've got lots of the new photos/content to share...now just have to find the time.

eBay store restocked

Just a quick update that I've restocked my eBay store this afternoon with Transformers, video games and accessories and a few other items. As always I try to price the stuff low so I move them out and make room for new stuff. Click the images to go straight to the eBay listings.

Items of interest include a Walmart exclusive Transformers Age of Extinction Dinobot Strafe. Why it's interesting (at least to me) is that it's a repaint of the awesome Beast Wars Terrorsaur mold! Bidding starts at only $.99!

I didn't stick around collecting the GI Joe A Real American Hero line into the 90's, so this vehicle / playset wasn't all that familiar to me. I found this Fort America toy in a lot I purchased and I did my best using YoJoe.com to piece together as much of it as I could. Listed this today starting at $.99 as well.

Not really a new listing, but I did drop the price by 5 bucks on this Hard Hero Artist's Proof statue of Beast Wars' Rhinox. Beautiful statue, I just don't have the need for it anymore.

I used to have a subscription to Matty Collector's Masters of the Universe Classics series. After a few years I decided to let my collection of figures go. However 3 figures lept off the shelf where they were displayed and "hid" behind my arcade cabinet. Over the Christmas holiday I reorganized a major portion of my toy/game room and I unearthed Adora and a few others. The other figures have since sold, but Adora is still available.

Flashback to the 80's with this decent NES port of the smash hit, Double Dragon II: the Revenge. I've been playing my NES games all this time on one of those clone systems. I've recently reorganized my gaming set up and posted a few pictures in some retro gaming groups I'm a part of on Facebook. Most of the comments are positive, but I was given some slack over using a clone NES. So I recently worked out a trade for a "toaster" NES console and this was one of the games included that I already owned.

You can't play NES games without a control pad! While I use and prefer the "dog bone" style controller Nintendo came out with later, these classic pads bring back a lot of great memories. I have two of them up for grabs.

Pre-eBay Offer: Sega Mark III console

I normally don't get caught up in the Black Friday type sales, but my wife wanted to go to Walmart to pick up a few good deals for our two daughters (i.e. Frozen stuff!). While I was there I managed to snag a new, much needed laptop. I ended up spending a few more dollars than I had wanted too, but the deal was too good to pass up. Now I'm in need of freeing up some cash to help offset the purchase.

I've decided to let go of my boxed Sega Mark III console. This was a tough decision to make, but it's not like I don't already have enough retro and modern video games/consoles to keep me occupied! I've listed this lot on a few Facebook groups already, but I thought I'd give it a try here as well just in case anyone was interested.

The lot includes a boxed Sega Mark III and a complete, boxed game - Zillion Tri Formation. The Mark III is complete with original box, original AC adapter, original instruction booklet, AV cord and two controllers. The controllers are missing the tiny joystick nubs that screw into the center of the D-Pads.

The console itself has some discoloration, very common with this console, or any white/off white console. The unit has been tested and works just fine. The Mark III is also backwards compatible and plays all SG-1000 and SC-3000 games too!

Let me know immediately if you are interested as I'll be moving this to eBay within a few days. You can contact me directly at flywheels@yahoo.com

eBay store fully restocked!

Every year I've tried to list some goodies on eBay the week of Thanksgiving. Well this year I was a little later to the party than usual, but as of today I've loaded up my eBay store with new Transformers figures, TF parts, Marvel Legends figures & Build-A-Figure parts and lots, lots more. In fact I've listed so many items I ran out of my free listings I get w/ my eBay store subscription, so more new items will be added next week. Some of the items were listed via auction format, but the majority are new stock that will remain in the store until they are sold.

Items of interest include an empty Energon Wing Saber box and even his hard to find pair of missiles! Several cheap Unicron Trilogy figures and Mini-Cons added too. Transformers aren't your style? Then I've got a few loose Gobots up for grabs and I've got the hard to find and equally awesome GI Joe Sigma 6 figure, Lockdown, on auction. In the Marvel section you'll find a few new Marvel Legends and a few BAF parts and even a few of the Disney Vinylmation figurines. I've also re-listed several loose M.A.S.K. figures and a few vintage Masters of the Universe figures and accessories. To round things out you'll also find a few Mattel WWE figures and some of those Funko Mystery Mini Walking Dead vinyl figures.

As always, you can find a link to the store in the sidebar to the right, or just click here! I ship fast, most cases the same day as long as payment is made by 12 noon to 1 pm! Find that item to fill someone's stocking or just grab something for yourself.

eBay Store Update -Yo Joe! & more Transformers

Just a quick update on the eBay store. I added a lot of vintage GI Joe figures and a few accessories. Most of those items are running on 7 day listings with a opening bid of only $.99.

I was also approached by a friend to help sell some of his unwanted TFs. Today I listed some pretty nice pieces, including Armada Nemesis Prime, Energon Wing Saber, RID Megabolt Megatron, RID Scourge, Car Robots JRX, Beast Wars Neo Magmatron, Sports Label Convoy Nike Free 7.0 Marine Version, several Animated bots and more!

More toy reviews coming soon!

New reviews coming, but until then more items added to my eBay store

Shameless plug I know, but my eBay store has kept me much busier than I originally thought it would.  I'm still working on listing items from a huge collection I bought several months earlier.  All of this has caused some delays obviously in me getting up new review content, but I've still got a lot of stuff in the pipeline I just need to put the finishing touches on.

Hang in there, new Transformers reviews and more are coming soon!

New items added to my eBay Store

I took advantage of a slow afternoon and added several more items to my new eBay store.  If you are looking for G1 parts you're in luck as I added several today.  Parts for Scorponok, Roadbuster, Metroplex and many many more.  I also decided to try my luck at re-listing some hard to find Mini-Cons / Microns in an auction format over the holiday weekend.

I still have a TON of stuff to list, but I'll have to do it in small chunks...so why not subscribe to the store's eBay newsletter to stay up to date on when new items are listed or items go on sale?  You can also 'Like' my Facebook page to stay up to date as well.

I promise to get back to toy blogging soon.  While it was nice to take a little break, I'm itching to get back to sharing many cool things I have.  Thanks for everyone's continued patronage.

New eBay Store!

A few weeks ago I went to an old co-worker's house to look at toys from her son's and nephew's past.  I had no idea how much they had, I just knew the boxes contained Transformers, G.I. Joe and more.  I was eager to see what kind of Transformers they had as the nephew was about the same age as my wife (early 30's).

Well in my excitement I forgot to take pictures so you'll have to use your imagination!  When I got to their house I was greeted with one of those large 15 gallon plastic totes, full of toys.  Then she told me she had 7 more on the back porch!  Looking back at me in those containers were G1 and G2 Transformers, G.I. Joe A Real American Hero figures (and parts of figures), TMNT, Star Wars and so, so, so much more.  We quickly agreed upon a deal and then I proceeded to load up my car to head home.

It took me a week just to sort through everything.  To this moment I am still in shock of some of the things I found.  The downside to all of this is the way these toys were stored.  Outside, in a storage shed.  The heat and humidity didn't treat some of the toys kindly.  I pulled out several toys that were badly discolored...and not just white plastic.  I don't have a count of the G1 figures I pulled out, but it had to exceed 75 at least.  Some of which were in better shape than some I had in my own collection (Sandstorm, Huffer) and a few I didn't even own (Blitzwing).  The real treat however was all the little loose parts floating around the bottom of the containers.  I found a Spike Headmaster, Vroom's small gun, Fasttrack's small orange gun, several Trypticon parts, two Megatron Action Master missiles I lacked and more.

I still haven't even touched the other containers save for sorting them.  I have so much I couldn't begin to figure out the best way to try and move them.  I thought about using some of the toy forums or some Facebook groups, but ultimately I decided to re-open my eBay store I had years ago.  This is a time consuming process, and time isn't something I have an abundance of.  However I will be slowly adding these toys and parts to the store over the next few weeks / months.  If you see something you want, send me a message letting me know that you follow this blog, or have 'Liked' my Facebook page and I'll pass along a small discount.  I'm not trying to get rich here, but all of this actually comes at a time when my family could use some extra money to help pay down some debt and pay some unexpected bills.

While I'm not buying right now, I am leaving the option of trading open.  I lack just under 20 G1 figures now from completing the line and there are still several parts I need to complete various figures.  That said if you see something in the store you are interested in, let me know and we'll if we can work out some kind of deal.  If by chance anyone has any complete M.A.S.K. toys also let me know as I'd be interested in trading for those as well.

Oh. My. Goodness.

Last night several highly sought after Japanese exclusive G1 Transformers sold on eBay.  Several of us TF collectors in my local circle were closely watching where these auctions would end...and let me just say we are still in the process of picking our jaws up off the floor this morning.

If you are a die hard TF collector then you know these particular toys don't come up for auction very often, let alone listed on eBay.  One could argue that the popularity of Transformers is still at an all time high and there are more collectors competing for vintage items now.  However, these prices seem insane.  I would expect these prices for complete, boxed versions in mint condition...not loose.  Of course we'll never known how these were obtained, why they were being sold or why someone bid what they did.  Then again who knows at this point if the winning bids are legit and the seller will receive the winning amount.  For the sake of the seller I hope the back end goes smoothly.

$606.00!  I acquired a boxed Roadfire in the late 90's for $200.  I later sold it at one of the OTFCC shows in Rosemont, IL to fund my entire trip.  I believe I got around $450 for mine in the mid 2000's.  $606 doesn't see too awful all things considered.  Box looks to be in good shape, toy is complete and no yellowing.

I only know one guy that owns this toy and I don't know what he paid for his MIB specimen, but $710.00 seems like a lot for a loose toy.  At least it's complete and again it's not yellowed like so many I see.

I'm wondering if this one didn't fetch more than $415.00 because people still think he could be re-issued at some point?  It's not a stretch since Sixshot was just re-issued a second time for the Asian market.  Personally, I'm still hoping Mastermind Collectibles still tweeks Hexatron for a Greatshot release.

I so prefer this deco over Quickswitch's.  Even though he's loose, he comes with all his paperwork and even the tech spec card and still finished at $395.00.  I can't remember the last time I saw a sold Sixknight so I can't really comment on the final price.

Holy crap!  $1,406.99?!  This one stings...a lot.  Not sure if I've shared this story before or not, but I swear it's true.  I used to run a very crude Transformers database I had Tripod host.  At some point a seller in Malaysia contacted me and asked for my help identifying a Transformer be just acquired.  Take in mind this was really before digital cameras and the ease of sharing photos.  He described to me Blue Bacchus.  Complete in it's original box.  I was in shock.  I asked if he was selling it and he said yes, so I made him an offer of $50 shipped and he agreed!  I can't remember the year, but it had to be in the late 90's as I was in college still.  I held onto this guy for several years, but ended up selling him to a guy I can across at Botcon 2001 held in my home state of North Carolina.  I sold him for $800 and I was happy w/ my profit margin.  Now I really hate myself for parting w/ a toy that I'll probably never own again.  Fun fact - I believe the seller was Paul Hitchens of the famous Space Bridge.

Here's another one that surprised me.  $1,225.00!  I know that is more than a friend of mine paid for his, a lot more.  Speechless.

$971.01 for a loose Dinoking.  Man, that makes me really happy owning MIB versions of all 6.  I always thought if I had to sell I wouldn't take less than $1,250.00.

I guess it's encouraging to see that in these economic times we live in people can afford to pay that much for pieces of plastic.  I know I can't and I sure hope that prices on vintage pieces like these come back down to earth so the speak, otherwise I know that I'll never be able to afford another vintage Japanese G1 TF again!
